Small Batch Foody, a business dedicated to offering the best in locally-sourced specialty food gifts, launched retail and online stores today. The company specializes in curating quality, handcrafted foods. They are leveraging a surge in popularity for locally-made gourmet foods for “foodies,” people with refined and adventuresome tastes.
“We know firsthand how artisans pour their passion into their work,” said Jack Parrish, President of Small Batch Foody. Parrish also founded the successful Sunflour Baking Company, of which Small Batch Foody is an offshoot. He added, “The inspiration for this new business emerged from our family owned bakery, where everything is made from scratch, small batch and local. We figured, if you like cupcakes in a jar, you’re going to love local fudge and a huge variety of other delicacies made right around here."
Small Batch Foody sources local "foody" style gifts made by local US Based vendors. The company sells and delivers customized gift boxes. It also ships nationwide. The makers of the gift items include artisan makers like Blue Moose Sweet Shoppe, Cloister Honey, Annie’s Ginger Elixir and AR’s Hot Southern Honey.
Customers can select specialty food gifts like Blackberry Patch Apple Butter Syrup, Bjorn Qorn, Blank Slate Birds Eye Chili Rich Simple Syrup. On this latter item, Parrish noted, “I dare anyone not to be at least curious about what it tastes like.”
Small Batch Foody is part of Sunflour Baking Company, which has served Charlotte from its original Elizabeth location since 2009. The company opened a second store in Dilworth in 2016, and since then two more stores in Harrisburg and Ballantyne. The company has been owned and operated by the Parrish family since 2014.
